Product information "Aglaisio"
Lace patterns look so pretty – but you need to concentrate while working them, and an entire piece in a lace pattern sometimes does not serve its purpose: Knitted items are usually supposed warm their wearer, and too many holes may be a tad counter-productive in that regard. “Aglaisio” (from the Latin name of the Peacock Butterfly, “Aglais Io”) is a warming cowl in a beautiful hand dyed yarn with a panel that requires a manageable amount of lace knitting. The cowl is worked seamlessly in two triangles with a narrow rectangle of lace in between. Only one skein (100 g) of fingering weight yarn will suffice to make Aglaisio.

Berry Skies

A cowl that looks like a scarf that looks like a shawl, is an easy-peasy knit and has an unusual construction, accentuated by stripes in my most beloved colors – that sounds like a new favorite project of mine, and that’s exactly what “Berry Skies” is! I have been playing around with different ways of making cowls, and this one struck me as particularly suited for a “Trio Aquarell” by Dibadu: Three colors with just enough contrast to emphasize the stripes and zig-zags that are in perfect harmony nevertheless – just like clouds in the sky over Damsdorf, my home, at sunset. The cowl is entirely knit back and forth in garter stitch with only a few purl stitches and minimal ends to weave in when you are done. Depending on which side you decide to wear up, the light or dark colors will show more. Choose your favorite way to wear it, and the geometric zig-zag elements will be more prominent or less, making it one of the most versatile knitted pieces of your wardrobe! The pattern "Berry Skies" is part of Martina Behm´s book "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions".

Panoramic Cowl
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
So cozy, so comfy, so colorful: Broaden your horizons with Panoramic Cowl! It’s a great project to round off our Strickmich! Club motto “Naturally Nature” of 2020, as the colorway (“Landscape”) and the construction celebrate the beauty of what is around us. “Panoramic Cowl” is just the thing to add a little color and warmth to your winter wardrobe! The construction is unusual but very simple and a pleasure to knit. The yarn is creatively dyed and feels amazing when wearing it. Your neck and chest will be warm and protected from chilly winds outside, and nothing will come off or be exposed. Ideal for wearing when riding your bike, skiing, hiking or just taking a walk with your favorite four- or two-legged friends to enjoy the panoramic views in your neighborhood.  This pattern was exclusive to members of Strickmich! Club during the first six months after its publication in 2020. The colorway "Landscape" was dyed exclusively for us by Tieke Garne.
