Braidsmaid

Product information "Braidsmaid"

There is something fascinating about reversible knitted cables – and they are just perfect to give a simple, but unusually constructed garter stitch shawlette a little twist. For this project, you should indulge and use the shiniest, softest yarn you can get your hands on. The design is such that the yarn is the star – and wearing this shawlette, you will feel like one as well. You can use any amount of yarn and knit a shawlette in the size you desire, the pattern is adjustable.

If you have never tried cabling before, this is the perfect project to start!

Rosy Green Wool Cheeky Merino Joy
Color Rosy Green Wool: 115 Luft
This yarn is pure joy: 100% Merino superwash from Argentina, spun in a traditional mill in the UK, GOTS-certified (i. e. produced animal- and eco-friendly) – and soooo supersoft! I do not know many yarns that feel as good as this next to your skin – so it's ideal for shawls, hats and scarves as well as baby clothing. My patterns Matchmaker (DK-Version) and Naiada, as well as Braidsmaid, Heaven & Space, Buds & Bumbles and Brickless are perfect with this yarn, but also my hat patterns Tensfield, Langfield, Blunk the Hat turn out wonderfully in this yarn. The "Melange" colors of Cheeky Merino Joy by Rosy Green Wool have an interesting, almost rustic look to them – while being just as soft as their solid cousins! This is achieved by dyeing a part of the white merino fiber in a dark color before it is spun in to yarn. The colors that are dyed on the skeins will then have a beautiful heathered effect. The sample "Knitters DNA" from our book "Hitchhiker Collection" was made out of two skeins of this yarn, colorway "Sea Green". The sample "Rose Candy" from our book "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions" was knit out of 1 skein of this yarn in color "Eismeer" and 1 skein in color "Nachthimmel".  My patterns  Obvious, Shore Hap Joy, Shrug & More and Corners, Edges, Stripes were written specifically for this yarn.

Rosy Green Wool Lovely Merino Treat
Color Rosy Green Wool: 138 Rosa Orchidee
The yarn we have been waiting for! "Lovely Merino Treat" is the latest addition to the Rosy Green Wool range, and with 210 m / 230 yards per 100 g skein it has the perfect weight for sweaters and warm shawls, right in between the beloved "Cheeky Merino Joy" and "Big Merino Hug" yarns. Of course, it's just as soft and comes in the same beautiful colors as the other Rosy yarns. Spun out of extremely soft, mulesing-free merino fiber, it's a pleasure to knit with and to wear. And to wash, as it's a superwash yarn and can be washed in the machine. As always with Rosy Green Wool, their yarns fulfil the very demanding criteria of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS): Every step of the production must be animal-friendly and not harm the environment. Also, fair wages and working conditions for everyone involved are required. Treat yourself to this lovely yarn!

Strickmich! Big Bowl - your project bag
Strickmich! Big Bowl is the more voluminous version of her little sister, the Strickmich! Bowl Accessory bag: Open it up and it will expand to a useful bowl that holds your yarn balls when knitting. Sturdy cotton with a wool felt bottom protects your precious yarn, and knitting from it is a breeze. When you close it, you can carry it with the attached sling. Strickmich! Big Bowl holds 250 to 350 g yarn (on the ball or knitted) plus your needles. The smaller version (Strickmich! Bowl – accessory bag) is suitable for knitting accessories or small projects with up to 100 g yarn. The yarn and decoration in the pictures are not included. Strickmich! Big Bowl is sewn by Manomama in Augsburg, Germany after an idea by knitwear designer Martina Behm: Sturdy organic cotton fabric that will hold its shape and a reinforced bowl bottom with wool felt from German sheep who live in the Black Forest. The contrast-color zipper looks great with the Strickmich! logo tag and is made in Germany as well. Manomama is a project by Sina Trinkwalder, who established Manomama in the old textile hub Augsburg in Bavaria, employing people who find it hard to find work otherwise. Big & Beautiful

As you may know, I live in an old pub in the northern German countryside, built in 1906, remodeled in the late 1980s. It’s beautiful and I really love it, but the house is quite big (big enough to hold knitting events and classes!), so we only turn on the heating in the rooms we actually use – plus the wood stove, of course. When I am sitting at my desk, I usually wear three layers of wool plus something cozy around my neck, and this big and beautiful cowl out of a soft and eco-conscious Aran-weight yarn is my new favorite: The reversible cables spiral elegantly around it, so it’s a little wider at the shoulders and narrower around your neck. Up or down, inside or out: just big and beautiful!

Match & Move
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
I just love the “We’re Different”-Grab Bags from Rohrspatz & Wollmeise: Depending on which kind you choose, you will get a combination of a multicolor and a matching semisolid, hand-picked by the dyemaster herself, who has an unmatched sense of color. What shall I say? I was really surprised when I saw that she teamed up a softly variegated brown-grey with a bold and warm red. I just had to give it a try and get my knitting needles moving! So here’s “Match & Move”, a shawl designed to show off the perfect Wollmeise color combination and use up (almost!) an entire grab bag of yarn. My shawl weighs 286 grams. The unusual construction results in kinked stripes that look really interesting when you wear it. The knitting is plain garter stitch and very relaxing, and the shawl is so big and comfy, it is just a dream to wear. Definitely my favorite shawl so far – and I am determined to order another grab bag, be surprised and knit myself one more. Size of the shawl in the pictures: 200 x 50 cm (80 x 20 inches) 286 g of yarn (140 g of color A and 146 g of color B) Wollmeise Colors: Resi and Zimtapfel (both WD)The pattern "Match & Move" is part of Martina Behms book "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions".
