Brickless

Product information "Brickless"

“Brickless” was designed for the Miss Babs 2012 Knitting Tour, and was exclusive to the members of the Tour for six months.

Berlin in Winter is colder than most other big German cities – when travelling there, a big, cozy shawlette like this will come in handy! The beautiful colors are reminiscent of bright city lights in dark winter nights. The shape of the shawlette is an asymmetrical, long triangle, formed by rows that are getting longer and longer as you go. They are worked in different simple, but very effective patterns that make them look a little like a skyline of tall houses. These skyscrapers are not built with bricks, but concrete and steel – hence the name, „Brickless“. And also: No more bricks in the wall that used to divide Berlin.

The pattern "Brickless" is part of Martina Behm´s book "The Hitchhiker Collection".

Strickmich! Big Bowl is the more voluminous version of her little sister, the Strickmich! Bowl Accessory bag: Open it up and it will expand to a useful bowl that holds your yarn balls when knitting. Big Bowl holds 250 to 350 g yarn (on the ball or knitted) plus your needles. The smaller version (Strickmich! Bowl – accessory bag) is suitable for knitting accessories or small projects with up to 100 g yarn. The yarn and decoration in the pictures are not included.Strickmich! Hitchhiker

Garter stitch. It‘s simple, it‘s warm and squishy, stretchy and reversible and it makes any variegated, hand-dyed sockyarn really shine. So here‘s Hitchhiker: It is a narrow, slightly asymmetrically shaped triangular shawlette that can be wrapped around the neck several times. The ends are long enough to tie it with a knot. One of the short sides of the triangle features a saw-tooth border that evolves naturally during the knitting and gives the shawl its unusual shape. Because the knitting starts at one end, you can stop anytime, bind off and end up with a useful neckerchief, shawlette or shawl. A perfect project to relax in between more complicated ones, also very suitable for beginners and young knitters. The name? Well, if you use a 150 g skein of Wollmeise 100% Merino for this, you can make how many teeth? That‘s right, 42. The answer to the question about the universe and everything, according to Douglas Adams‘ wonderful book „The Hitchhiker‘s Guide to the Galaxy“. So don‘t forget your towel, and happy knitting! The pattern "Hitchhiker" is avaliable in Martina Behm´s books "The Hitchhiker Collection" and "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions"

Jasminde

This pattern was part of Strickmich! Club 2014. If you are a beginning lace knitter, this is for you!  When I first saw a skein of yarn in this beautiful berry-pinkish color, I immediately felt that it needed to be something very, very pretty. Definitely lace, but not too frilly. Geometric and delicate, but simple enough to make it an enjoyable knitting experience. So here is “Jasminde”, a triangular, asymmetric shawl that you will be able to wrap yourself into and instantly feel beautiful! With only 150 grams of “Rohrspatz & Wollmeise Pure“, you will knit a generously sized shawl that is 250 cm (100 inches) long and will not only be pretty to look at, but also keep you warm when autumn arrives. The pattern is flexible regarding the amount of yarn you have and the size you want your shawl to be: Just leave about 10% of your total amount of yarn for the edging, and you will be fine. The English version of the printed pattern does NOT contain a written-out version, CHARTS ONLY.The pattern "Jasminde" is part of Martina Behm´s book "The Hitchhiker Collection".

Naiada

Simple, elegant lace in a surprising, long, slightly asymmetrical triangular shape: That’s Naiada! Knit with a warm DK weight yarn in a beautiful color it will look great under your winter coat or wrapped around your shoulders for extra warmth over a shirt or sweater. Made of a bright blue you will be wearing your very private ocean!  You start at one corner of the triangle, adding wider and wider rows, thereby forming a long, slightly asymmetric triangle. The pattern will work at any gauge with any amount of yarn.  The lace pattern is very straightforward and easy to remember. You can work it using the (very simple) written instructions or the charts, whatever you prefer.  It’s really smooth sailing on the lace ocean which is also doable for beginning lace knitters. The beautiful yarn Amano Puna which I used for the sample is available in our shop. The pattern "Naiada" is part of Martina Behm´s book "The Hitchhiker Collection".
