Concrete Flower

Product information "Concrete Flower"
It’s a swoncho: A sweater-poncho hybrid that we have been seeing a lot in the knitting world lately. Wide and flowy like a poncho, but with sleeves that makes it very wearable: It won’t come off or be in the way when you are going about your daily business. But “Concrete Flower” is so much more than a swoncho: It is sufficiently light to be worn as a cowl or a shawl, depending on whether you use the sleeves for your arms or not. My sample was knit out of 80 g of a 100-g-ball of a beautiful Alpaca-silk-blend. The open sides make it wearable for larger sizes, and you can adapt the pattern to your own needs: change the width and length of the sleeves as well as the depth and width of the neck opening, limited only by the amount of yarn you have.

A soft and cozy wrap cardigan in a beautiful mulesing-free merino yarn in a favorite color – every knitter needs one! Wrap & Warm is worked seamlessly in the round from the sleeves to the collar and can be adapted to your size and preferences during the knitting: the width of the cuffs, the length of the sleeves, the width and length of the cardi and the dimensions of the collar can all be adapted while you are working on it. You decide! If you work the edges in different widths as suggested, you will get two different looks depending on which one is worn at the neck side. Use a shawl pin to close it if you prefer. Poppy Project
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
Summer is close – and a typical sight around here are pretty deep red poppy flowers showing their friendly faces. But even in warmer temperatures, a little woolen something to keep your neck warm might be nice: “Poppy Project” is a modular cowl with two additional openings and multiple wearing options – you might even wear it as a little shoulder warmer. Knit entirely in garter stitch without any seams, it’s a perfect project to relax, have a good time and chat – online or offline – with your favorite knitter friends. The sample in the pictures was knit with one skein (150 g) of Alte Künste Big Merino. It doubles as a shrug up to size M. If you wear a larger size, you can wear it as a  versatile cowl or choose to add a second skein of yarn to make it bigger.   "Poppy Project" can be worked out of any fingering weight yarn (400 m / 100 g). You will need 150 g of yarn up to size M and 200-250 g for larger sizes.

Sleeves PDF Download

It is absolutely no secret that I love long, triangular shawlettes, because they are easy to wear and look great. And sometimes I wish I had something to warm my arms on chilly evenings, when I am just wearing a T-Shirt or a tank-top. Something that will stay in place when I move, goes over everything and adds a splash of color. So I made „Sleeves“:  It is a shawlette that you can put your arms in, because the long ends are actually tubes. You will be able to dance in it without fear that it might come off! The knitting is pleasant and easy, mostly knit stitches with a few construction details that will keep you interested.Pattern NotesI recommend a fingering or sport-weight yarn, but the pattern is written such that you can use any other yarn (gauge is not important). You will just have to try it on your arm and decide how long you want your sleeves and neck opening to be. The wider you make your arms, the longer it will be in the back. In an appendix, key stitch numbers for five sizes are provided.  My version (which is a generous size M) used 250g. Plan to use more yarn for larger sizes. If you are using multiple colors, do the color changes at the beginning of the rounds or at the beginning of a right-side-row.
