Hitchhat PDF Download

Product information "Hitchhat PDF Download"

Ever wondered what a hat would look like that matches your Hitchhiker scarf? Like a Hitchhat, of course! Biased garter stitch brings out the best of a handdyed, variegated see-me-color. And the trademark Hitchhiker border adds just a little interest. It can be worn the slouchy way or with the brim folded up, according to your personal style. It knits up real quick and is a great use for yarn leftovers!

Accessories

Strickmich! Bowl – Accessory Pouch
This knitting accessory bag is different: Open the zipper and it will expand to a bowl where you can see all your knitting accessories at once. With a diameter of a little less than 10 inches, this bowl holds everything you need when knitting: circular needles, dpns, crochet hooks, tape measures, needle gauges, pens and pencils... you name it! It is also suitable for small projects like socks or hats or can be used as a pencil case. Just put it on the table in front of you and go! And when you're done, everything will be well protected by the sturdy organic cotton fabric. Strickmich! Bowl is sewn by Manomama in Augsburg, Germany after an idea by knitwear designer Martina Behm: Sturdy organic cotton fabric that will hold its shape and a reinforced bowl bottom with wool felt from German sheep who live in the Black Forest. The contrast-color zipper looks great with the Strickmich! logo tag and is made in Germany as well.  Manomama is a project by Sina Trinkwalder, who established Manomama in the old textile hub Augsburg in Bavaria, employing people who find it hard to find work otherwise. Fair pay and good working conditions are an essential part of the project. Hitchhiker

Garter stitch. It‘s simple, it‘s warm and squishy, stretchy and reversible and it makes any variegated, hand-dyed sockyarn really shine. So here‘s Hitchhiker: It is a narrow, slightly asymmetrically shaped triangular shawlette that can be wrapped around the neck several times. The ends are long enough to tie it with a knot. One of the short sides of the triangle features a saw-tooth border that evolves naturally during the knitting and gives the shawl its unusual shape. Because the knitting starts at one end, you can stop anytime, bind off and end up with a useful neckerchief, shawlette or shawl. A perfect project to relax in between more complicated ones, also very suitable for beginners and young knitters. The name? Well, if you use a 150 g skein of Wollmeise 100% Merino for this, you can make how many teeth? That‘s right, 42. The answer to the question about the universe and everything, according to Douglas Adams‘ wonderful book „The Hitchhiker‘s Guide to the Galaxy“. So don‘t forget your towel, and happy knitting! The pattern "Hitchhiker" is avaliable in Martina Behm´s books "The Hitchhiker Collection" and "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions"

Hitchhiker Beyond
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
Hey, is that a Hitchhiker? No wait, something is different... There are teeth all around your neck! And many more than 42! And it’s symmetric! How did you do that? Simple: This is not a Hitchhiker, but a Hitchhiker from a parallel universe – it’s a Hitchhiker Beyond! The toothy edge is placed on the long side of the skinny triangle (on the original Hitchhiker, it’s on one of the short sides). The triangle is almost perfectly symmetric, which I am sure some of you will find very pleasing. But apart from that, the Hitchhiker Beyond shares the desirable qualities of its cousin: Garter stitch on the bias lets a pretty handdyed multicolor shine, it is squishy and warm, and the resulting shape is easy to wear. Only one skein of colorful fingering weight yarn will make a shawlette long enough to wrap around your neck several times. And just as the Hitchhiker, the Hitchhiker Beyond is an easy knit that is suitable for beginning knitters – and for those of you who do not like casting on or casting off lots of stitches. Enjoy, relax, and have fun showing this off to your knitting friends! Adaptable to amount of yarn. Yarn used here: 100 g of Miss Babs Yummy 2-ply, Colorway Dream Weaver. The pattern "Hitchhiker Beyond" is part of Martina Behm´s book "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions".

Hitchhands PDF Download
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
Here are the mittens to match your Hitchhiker scarf and Hitchhat! Unusual biased construction meets nice, cozy garter stitch that looks fabulous in a hand-dyed fingering-weight yarn and keeps your hands warm, plus a fun sharktooth border at the cuff. The cuff is tighter than the hand due to short-row-shaping, such that the mittens will not come off by themselves. For the symmetry-freaks among you: These mittens are reversible and mirror each other perfectly – because they are actually the same but one is worn inside-out!You start with a provisional cast-on and knit the mitten flat in garter stitch. I provide a video-tutorial for the short-row-shaping of the cuff. The spiky border evolves as you go. Later, the two edges are grafted together, leaving a comfortable thumb opening. The thumb is knit in the round.Correct gauge is crucial for this pattern. Please choose your needle size accordingly. If you whish to make smaller mittens, you can opt to knit them at a gauge of 32-34 stitches/10 cm (4 inches).
