Mostly Warmness PDF Download

Product information "Mostly Warmness PDF Download"

Want matching handwarmers to go with your Hitchhiker shawlette? This is the pattern for you! Just 40-50 g of handpainted variegated fingering weight yarn will add a funky little detail to your autumn wardrobe. Garter stitch lets the color changes flow into each other, and the biased construction and spiky borders are charming without being too frilly. Using the same instructions and another 60 g of yarn you can make a matching cowl that is just right for those chilly days before winter when a scarf would still be too warm.

The pattern includes instructions for both the handwarmers and the cowl (they are essentially the same, but for the cowl you knit more repeats). You start with a provisional cast-on. The spiky borders evolve as you go, and in the end you graft the stitches of the last row to the live stitches of the provisional cast-on. Don‘t worry if you have never done this before: I provide instructional videos for the provisional cast-on, the technique needed to make the border and the garter-stitch grafting.

Matching Yarn

Kremke Soul Wool Lazy Lion Sock Yarn
Color Yarn: 05 Bunch of Roses
This is probably the softest sock yarn in the whole wild world – and it's made out of mulesing-free Merino fiber from South Africa. Hence the name! Besides the softness, the best thing about this yarn is that it is color-changing: As you knit, exciting stripes in a number of color combinations will emerge. It's perfect for an interestingly constructed shawl like Easy, Puerto Montt or Match & Move. "Lazy Lion" is superwash and consists of 25% Nylon, so it will be durable enough for socks and other hard-wearing garments – all of this while being incredibly soft! The sample "Trillian" from our book "Hitchhiker Collection" was made out of one skein of this yarn, colorway "Brittas Favorite".The sample "Puerto Montt" on the cover of "Strickmich! Knitting Innovations" was knit out of 2 skeins of this yarn, colorway "Flower Bed". The knitted cover of Strickplaner 2020 was made out of this yarn in the colorway "Bunch of Roses".

Tough & Toasty
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
Wearing little fingerless mittens like these somehow makes me feel a little tougher – maybe that’s because leather versions of this are frequently worn by bikers, cyclists or people operating some kind of heavy machinery. Well, the only machinery I tend to operate is my keyboard, but these mitts do a fabulous job keeping my hands toasty! They are made of a luxurious, but resistant blend of wool and alpaca, so they are cozy and warm but will wear well, no matter what task is at hand. They are intentionally short in order not to cause bulk when wearing them with long sleeves and to make sure you have easy access to your wristwatch. One pair uses up only half a ball (25 g) of yarn and can be finished in one or two nights of knitting – great if you need a last-minute gift. The unusual construction works (almost) without purl stitches and can be adapted to the recipient’s hand size during the knitting, so you can substitute yarns and knit them at a different gauge if desired. This pattern is written for one long circular needle. If you would like to use dpns, please be aware that there are no instructions given for how to use them with this pattern and you would have to make the necessary adjustments yourself. Yarn used in the samples: Blacker Yarns Brushwork, colors Wash, Stipple and Scumble. The pattern "Tough & Toasty" is part of Martina Behm´s book "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions".

Quadra Cowl
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
Fascinating! Quadra Cowl will change its appearance just as you wish: It's especially fun when made out of a self-striping yarn or a mini-skeins. The construction comes together automatically during the knitting, no sewing or seaming required. All important steps are explained in the accompanying videos. As the cowl is double-layered and extra warm, it will be a useful addition to your winter wardrobe!  The cowls in the pictures are made out of two sets of Zauberperlen  by Schoppel (200 g in total, colorways Samarkand and Arabesk) or four balls of Edition 3  by Schoppel (colorway Englischer Garten). You can choose other yarns if you wish (e.g. Lazy Lion or Crazy Zauberball), just make sure it is not too bulky.  Please note that you will need three circular needles of the same size to make this (only for one round), length 80 cm (32 in) or more, preferably in different colors, plus four stitch markers.
