Puerto Montt

Product information "Puerto Montt"

Striking and intense, dramatic color and contrast, and fascinating geometric shapes are what you can see if you board a ship in Puerto Montt in the very South of Chile and travel a few nautic miles to the Laguna San Rafael, where a bright teal-colored glacier lies between dark rocks, and if you are lucky you can see chunks of the ice break off and fall spectacularly into the water. My husband and I spent a year in Chile, and we took our baby son on a cruise to this place, because I insisted that the only thing I really, really needed to see in Chile was the teal-blue glacier. When this yarn arrived, I was immediately reminded of the strange beauty of that place – and created an unusually shaped shawl which is simple, but dramatically shaped and can be worn in various flattering ways. Enjoy!

Gradient striped version uses 100 g of Schoppel Crazy Zauberball, colorway “Blasser Schimmer”

The pattern "Puerto Montt" is part of Martina Behm´s book "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions".

Corners, Edges, Stripes

My new favorite shawl: great colors, fun stripes, interesting construction, generous measurements – and the yarn is so soft and feels so good that I think I will never take this off! “Corners, Edges, Stripes” is the striped variation of my “Ecken + Kanten”-Shawl that everyone keeps asking about. I have worn the predecessor of this shawl until it became old and gray, so when I needed a new one, I thought it would be a great opportunity to write down the pattern for it: Squishy garter stitch is worked in an organic superwash Merino in your four favorite colors. The triangles each use two of them, and each is worked in a different direction for knitting fun and an interesting look. The finished shawl weighs more than 300 g and is 340 cm (136 inches) wide which makes it extremely versatile – it even replaces your cardigan if you wish. But you can also make a smaller and lighter version using less yarn and the same instructions.  Find the yarn used for this pattern, the beautiful Rosy Green Wool Cheeky Merino Joy in our shop.

Quadra Cowl
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
Fascinating! Quadra Cowl will change its appearance just as you wish: It's especially fun when made out of a self-striping yarn or a mini-skeins. The construction comes together automatically during the knitting, no sewing or seaming required. All important steps are explained in the accompanying videos. As the cowl is double-layered and extra warm, it will be a useful addition to your winter wardrobe!  The cowls in the pictures are made out of two sets of Zauberperlen  by Schoppel (200 g in total, colorways Samarkand and Arabesk) or four balls of Edition 3  by Schoppel (colorway Englischer Garten). You can choose other yarns if you wish (e.g. Lazy Lion or Crazy Zauberball), just make sure it is not too bulky.  Please note that you will need three circular needles of the same size to make this (only for one round), length 80 cm (32 in) or more, preferably in different colors, plus four stitch markers.
