Schoppel Crazy Zauberball

Product information "Schoppel Crazy Zauberball"
This yarn is like a magic trick! "Crazy Zauberball" by German manufacturer Schoppel consists of 75% wool mixed with 25% Polyamide and has the most stunning color variations. Perfect for interestingly constructed hats! The color changes make the knitting extra fun, and the result looks just cool and special. The yarn is very light and durable and becomes soft after the first wash. One skein (100 g) are sufficient for an adult sized hat (ca. 50-55 g) plus a kid sized hat (ca. 40-45 g). It's also perfect to make a prettily striped Hitchhiker, Lintilla, Puerto Montt or Easy shawlette.

Yarns by Schoppel are made with mulesing-free wool from South America

Please note that each Zauberball is an individual and may look different than the ones shown in these pictures.

The samples "Easy" and "Ecken + Kanten" from the book "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions" were made out of 100 g (one ball) of this yarn each, colorways "Sanduhr" and "Papagei"

Blunk the Hat
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
When I invented the “Tensfield” and “Langfield” hats, my focus was on a seamless hat that could be adjusted to the wearer’s head during the knitting. My family and I are super-fond of our hats and wear them all the time – but my geometrically inclined mind would not stop reasoning until it found a way to make such a hat that would also be symmetrical. So here is Blunk, a cousin to the Tensfield hat that you will certainly enjoy knitting, too! As usual, you can use anything you have in your stash as gauge does not matter at all, and you can adjust it to a newborn’s head as well as to your own. This hat will turn out particularly nice in a handspun yarn with long color changes like Schoppel Crazy Zauberball. The name? “Blunk” is the village next to Tensfeld, right around the corner from Damsdorf, my home.

Easy
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
Shawlettes in garter stitch are my favorite: They look great in a colorful yarn, they are squishy and warm your neck, and they are so easy to knit that even beginners will enjoy making them. This shawlette is named “Easy” because it is just that: So simple to knit, but the biased construction and change of knitting direction will bring out the best of a multicolored yarn. It is long and skinny and can be wrapped around several times, or tied with a knot – and it uses only 459 yards of fingering weight yarn. Length: approx. 200 cm (80 inches), Depth approx. 24 cm (10 inches) You start in one corner and knit a long triangle until 50% of your yarn is used up. Then you change the direction and modularly add a second triangle (no seaming required) – and you have made a colorful addition to your wardrobe! The pattern "Easy" is part of Martina Behm´s book "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions".

Hitchhiker
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
Garter stitch. It‘s simple, it‘s warm and squishy, stretchy and reversible and it makes any variegated, hand-dyed sockyarn really shine. So here‘s Hitchhiker: It is a narrow, slightly asymmetrically shaped triangular shawlette that can be wrapped around the neck several times. The ends are long enough to tie it with a knot. One of the short sides of the triangle features a saw-tooth border that evolves naturally during the knitting and gives the shawl its unusual shape. Because the knitting starts at one end, you can stop anytime, bind off and end up with a useful neckerchief, shawlette or shawl. A perfect project to relax in between more complicated ones, also very suitable for beginners and young knitters. The name? Well, if you use a 150 g skein of Wollmeise 100% Merino for this, you can make how many teeth? That‘s right, 42. The answer to the question about the universe and everything, according to Douglas Adams‘ wonderful book „The Hitchhiker‘s Guide to the Galaxy“. So don‘t forget your towel, and happy knitting! The pattern "Hitchhiker" is avaliable in Martina Behm´s books "The Hitchhiker Collection" and "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions"
