Product information "Strider"
Take a deep breath, enjoy the view, walk a few miles in a bizarre landscape that was left behind by the gravel mines surrounding our village – that’s what I enjoy every day. “Strider” is a scarf that has proven immensely useful during my walks: In the middle, it is pointy as a shawl for extra warmth on the chest, but the ends are square. This fun geometric construction is accentuated by a pretty color-changing yarn. Entirely knit in garter stitch with super simple and short instructions, it is perfectly suited for a beginning knitter. Bonus: You can make this bigger by using more yarn – just knit until everything is used up.

The pattern "Strider" is part of Martina Behm´s book "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions".

Matching Yarn

Schoppel Crazy Zauberball
Color Schoppel: Herbstwind
This yarn is like a magic trick! "Crazy Zauberball" by German manufacturer Schoppel consists of 75% wool mixed with 25% Polyamide and has the most stunning color variations. Perfect for interestingly constructed hats! The color changes make the knitting extra fun, and the result looks just cool and special. The yarn is very light and durable and becomes soft after the first wash. One skein (100 g) are sufficient for an adult sized hat (ca. 50-55 g) plus a kid sized hat (ca. 40-45 g). It's also perfect to make a prettily striped Hitchhiker, Lintilla, Puerto Montt or Easy shawlette. Yarns by Schoppel are made with mulesing-free wool from South AmericaPlease note that each Zauberball is an individual and may look different than the ones shown in these pictures. The samples "Easy" and "Ecken + Kanten" from the book "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions" were made out of 100 g (one ball) of this yarn each, colorways "Sanduhr" and "Papagei"

Kremke Soul Wool Lazy Lion Sock Yarn
Color Yarn: 05 Bunch of Roses
This is probably the softest sock yarn in the whole wild world – and it's made out of mulesing-free Merino fiber from South Africa. Hence the name! Besides the softness, the best thing about this yarn is that it is color-changing: As you knit, exciting stripes in a number of color combinations will emerge. It's perfect for an interestingly constructed shawl like Easy, Puerto Montt or Match & Move. "Lazy Lion" is superwash and consists of 25% Nylon, so it will be durable enough for socks and other hard-wearing garments – all of this while being incredibly soft! The sample "Trillian" from our book "Hitchhiker Collection" was made out of one skein of this yarn, colorway "Brittas Favorite".The sample "Puerto Montt" on the cover of "Strickmich! Knitting Innovations" was knit out of 2 skeins of this yarn, colorway "Flower Bed". The knitted cover of Strickplaner 2020 was made out of this yarn in the colorway "Bunch of Roses".

Shawlettes in garter stitch are my favorite: They look great in a colorful yarn, they are squishy and warm your neck, and they are so easy to knit that even beginners will enjoy making them. This shawlette is named “Easy” because it is just that: So simple to knit, but the biased construction and change of knitting direction will bring out the best of a multicolored yarn. It is long and skinny and can be wrapped around several times, or tied with a knot – and it uses only 459 yards of fingering weight yarn. Length: approx. 200 cm (80 inches), Depth approx. 24 cm (10 inches) You start in one corner and knit a long triangle until 50% of your yarn is used up. Then you change the direction and modularly add a second triangle (no seaming required) – and you have made a colorful addition to your wardrobe! The pattern "Easy" is part of Martina Behm´s book "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions".

Hitchhiker
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
Garter stitch. It‘s simple, it‘s warm and squishy, stretchy and reversible and it makes any variegated, hand-dyed sockyarn really shine. So here‘s Hitchhiker: It is a narrow, slightly asymmetrically shaped triangular shawlette that can be wrapped around the neck several times. The ends are long enough to tie it with a knot. One of the short sides of the triangle features a saw-tooth border that evolves naturally during the knitting and gives the shawl its unusual shape. Because the knitting starts at one end, you can stop anytime, bind off and end up with a useful neckerchief, shawlette or shawl. A perfect project to relax in between more complicated ones, also very suitable for beginners and young knitters. The name? Well, if you use a 150 g skein of Wollmeise 100% Merino for this, you can make how many teeth? That‘s right, 42. The answer to the question about the universe and everything, according to Douglas Adams‘ wonderful book „The Hitchhiker‘s Guide to the Galaxy“. So don‘t forget your towel, and happy knitting! The pattern "Hitchhiker" is avaliable in Martina Behm´s books "The Hitchhiker Collection" and "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions"
