Traumstrand

Product information "Traumstrand"

When I saw the beautiful color combination that our dyer Maike suggested for the first Strickmich! Club shipment of 2019, it immediately made me think of shimmering waters, surrounded by bright green palm trees on a sandy and sunny beach – a “Traumstrand” (German: dream beach) indeed! So my design became a relaxing, beautiful ocean of garter stitch in a vibrant teal combined with a simple and classic lace pattern reminiscent of the structure of palm leaves in spring green. The result is a fairly symmetric shawl in a new shape with two tips that will have you dream of days at the beach every time you wear it!

Hortensien

Hydrangeas (German: Hortensien) are little wonders of color: In summer, they blossom white, pink or baby blue, but their true beauty shows in fall, when the petals assume dark purple, blue and grayish tones that look just fascinating. This color play was the inspiration for our club color, and this design: Starting with two identical triangles in garter stitch, you will later connect them via a pretty lace panel, resulting in a special shape that is a delight to wear. The pattern for the lace insert is provided as written-out instructions and as a chart. Find the beautiful "Vivacious 4-ply" by Fyberspates that we used for the sample here in Strickmich! Shop.

Naiada
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
Simple, elegant lace in a surprising, long, slightly asymmetrical triangular shape: That’s Naiada! Knit with a warm DK weight yarn in a beautiful color it will look great under your winter coat or wrapped around your shoulders for extra warmth over a shirt or sweater. Made of a bright blue you will be wearing your very private ocean!  You start at one corner of the triangle, adding wider and wider rows, thereby forming a long, slightly asymmetric triangle. The pattern will work at any gauge with any amount of yarn.  The lace pattern is very straightforward and easy to remember. You can work it using the (very simple) written instructions or the charts, whatever you prefer.  It’s really smooth sailing on the lace ocean which is also doable for beginning lace knitters. The beautiful yarn Amano Puna which I used for the sample is available in our shop. The pattern "Naiada" is part of Martina Behm´s book "The Hitchhiker Collection".

Halley
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
Like a shower of comets and stars, criss-crossing through the sky – that’s what Alexandra of Zauberwiese thought of when she created this beautiful colorway for Strickmich! Club. So I picked up this theme for the design of a lacy shawl: The garter stitch gives way to an ever-growing assembly of geometric comet traces. The shawl is named “Halley” after Halley’s Comet, which is visible from Earth every 74 to 79 years, even without a telescope. The subtle color speckles on a stunning blue background make the shawl even more interesting to knit and wear – reminding you of the wonders of the universe while it warms your shoulders. You can use a yarn with 400-500 m per 100 g for this, like e. g. Amano Ayni or Rosy Green Wool Manx Merino Fine. The pattern "Halley" is part of Martina Behm´s book "The Hitchhiker Collection"
