This is probably the softest sock yarn in the whole wild world – and it's made out of mulesing-free Merino fiber from South Africa. Hence the name! Besides the softness, the best thing about this yarn is that it is color-changing: As you knit, exciting stripes in a number of color combinations will emerge. It's perfect for an interestingly constructed shawl like Easy , Puerto Montt or Match & Move. "Lazy Lion" is superwash and consists of 25% Nylon, so it will be durable enough for socks and other hard-wearing garments – all of this while being incredibly soft!

„Trillian“ is the leading female character in Douglas Adams‘ great book „The Hitchhiker‘s Guide to the Galaxy“. She‘s a mathematician and astrophysicist, and if she took up knitting, no doubt she would enjoy the unusual construction of this shawlette: You start knitting at one corner, adding wider and wider rows, thereby forming a long, narrow, slightly asymmetrical triangle. Just perfect for wrapping around your neck several times or hug your shoulders with a little warmth. Due to the shallow-but-long shape, you will get something useful to wear, no matter how much yarn you have. The garter-stitch center is perfect for showcasing a beautiful hand-dyed yarn, because it makes the colors flow into each other naturally. My husband and I spent a year in Chile, and we took our baby son on a cruise to this place, because I insisted that the only thing I really, really needed to see in Chile was the teal-blue glacier. Addi-Click Lace Long Set

Can the concept of an interchangeable needle set be improved any further? Yes, it can! I have been using several different needle systems over the years, and all of them had the problem that after a while, the needle tips would become loose, yarn would be caught in the screwing section or the tips would fall off entirely (a catastrophe when you are knitting lace...!). The click system by German manufacturer Addi solves this problem: You insert the end of the cable, press and turn – and the needle tip is secured for good. It won't come off, even after many hours of knitting. The mechanism is not hard to learn (it's shown in this Youtube video (opens in new window, in German – but you will see how it works!).
