A Knitter's Dream from the Himalayan Heights
German yarn expert and importer Britta Kremke will travel far to find a beautiful, soft and exotic yarn – for the amazing yak fiber, she went to Himalaya, only to find that these strong cattle are usually kept as pack animals. "To most farmers, combing out the fine fiber is just too much work", Britta says. But she did not give up on the yak yarn, reached out to Asia and found what she was looking for: A delicate blend of silk and yak, spun to a beautiful and durable lace yarn. With 800 m per 100 g you will be able to knit a generously sized shawl with just one skein.
