Half Norwegian
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
We’re in Norway – on a fabulous knitting cruise where we will see the spectacular coastline and enjoy learning about Norwegian knitting traditions. One of them is the Norwegian Star motif that you will find on sweaters, hats and mittens. So I took the Norwegian star, enlarged it, cut it in half and completed it to a triangular shawl: This is “Half Norwegian”! You will need equal amounts of your two favorite colors in a fingering weight yarn – but the pattern will also work in other yarn weights if you prefer. Pick a color-changing yarn for the half star for an extra fun effect! As a bonus, there are (almost) no stitches to cast on or cast off. This pattern can be worked with yarn of any weight. You will need the same amount of yarn in any weight. For the size depicted (length: 160 cm, depth: 84 cm) we recommend at least 400 m per color. The sample was knit out of 2 skeins of "Bio Balance" by BC Garn, colorway "Silber" plus 2 skeins in the colorway "Graphit". We offer yarn kits for this shawl in various colors that include the stitch markers you need to make this as a gift!

Buds & Bumbles
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
Every summer I find myself suddenly without anything hand-knit to wear – even the biggest wool-lovers among us will have to admit that Merino tends to lose its appeal once it’s 30 degrees Celsius (86 Fahrenheit) or more. So this summer I thought I would be clever and knit myself a shawlette out of a nice cotton yarn with long color changes. It has a cute little bud-stitch pattern that has a subtle lace-like appearance, biased construction and wavy or pointy edges. You can knit it until your yarn is used up, just to the size you love to wear. Knit it now using a cotton or cotton blend so you will have it ready for next summer (unlike me, who finished it just now in the fall), or use a cozy woolen yarn with pretty color changes like Schoppel Zauberball Cotton to be stylish and warm this season. Measurements of shawlette in the pictures: 167 cm (67 in) x 48 cm (19 in) We carry the pretty and amazing yarn Schoppel Zauberball Cotton here in Strickmich! Shop in a number of fun colorways. The pattern "Buds & Bumbles" is part of Martina Behm´s book "The Hitchhiker Collection".

Ecken + Kanten PDF Download
Language: Deutsch
Long, triangular scarves are just the perfect thing to keep one‘s neck warm – and men want them, too! So here is „Ecken + Kanten“ which is German for „Corners and Edges“. When we say that someone possesses „Ecken und Kanten“, we mean he is a strong, sometimes challenging character, which makes him even more lovable. This garter stitch scarf is an easy knit, while the modular construction keeps things interesting. A good beginners‘ project or a relaxing one for advanced knitters. The result is perfect for men (and women) big and small. The pattern can be adapted to any amount of yarn: 100g of fingering weight will result in a shorter scarf that is still big enough to wrap around and wear like a cowl, while 150g will result in a longer scarf. You start knitting at one corner until 25% of your yarn is used up. Then you change the direction of knitting 3 times, modularly forming 4 triangles and bind off.The pattern "Ecken + Kanten" is part of Martina Behm´s book "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions".
