Schoppel Edition 3
€7.95*
Color Schoppel:
Nachbars Garten
Just as pretty and colorful as the Crazy Zauberball, but a little more voluminous and made out of 100% soft, mulesing-free Merino fiber from Patagonia: the very cute "Edition 3" balls by Zauberball maker Schoppel in southern Germany. Without any artificial fiber content, they are perfect for everyone who likes their knitting natural, but colorful. The yardage is perfect for substantial shawls (300 m per 100 g), and if you use 3.5 to 4 mm (US 4-6) needles, you will get a pretty drape and a pleasant fabric, and – bonus! – they will be done in a little less time thatn your usual fingering weight shawl. The long color changes make the knitting so much fun and will make any Hitchhiker, Hitchhiker Beyond, Easy or Puerto Montt into a beautiful one-of-a-kind piece. If you are making little shawls for kids, one ball will be enough – but if you are making a shawlette or scarf for a grown-up, we recommend using at least 3 balls (150 g) of this yarn. For "Hitchhiker" we recommend 150 g (3 balls) of this yarn.
For the sample "Strider" from our book "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions" we recommend 150 g (3 balls) of this yarn.

Rosy Green Wool Cheeky Merino Joy
€19.90*
Color Rosy Green Wool:
115 Luft
This yarn is pure joy: 100% Merino superwash from Argentina, spun in a traditional mill in the UK, GOTS-certified (i. e. produced animal- and eco-friendly) – and soooo supersoft! I do not know many yarns that feel as good as this next to your skin – so it's ideal for shawls, hats and scarves as well as baby clothing. My patterns Matchmaker (DK-Version) and Naiada, as well as Braidsmaid, Heaven & Space, Buds & Bumbles and Brickless are perfect with this yarn, but also my hat patterns Tensfield, Langfield, Blunk the Hat turn out wonderfully in this yarn. The "Melange" colors of Cheeky Merino Joy by Rosy Green Wool have an interesting, almost rustic look to them – while being just as soft as their solid cousins! This is achieved by dyeing a part of the white merino fiber in a dark color before it is spun in to yarn. The colors that are dyed on the skeins will then have a beautiful heathered effect. The sample "Knitters DNA" from our book "Hitchhiker Collection" was made out of two skeins of this yarn, colorway "Sea Green".
The sample "Rose Candy" from our book "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions" was knit out of 1 skein of this yarn in color "Eismeer" and 1 skein in color "Nachthimmel".
My patterns Obvious, Shore Hap Joy, Rose Candy, Shrug & More and Corners, Edges, Stripes were written specifically for this yarn.

Kichererbse
Another great innovative yarn with long, harmonic color changes by Schoppel: voluminous and warm with a mix of 50% soft wool (Merino), 45% Alpaca and 5% Linen, it's just perfect for your next winter hat! "Alpaka Zauber" feels and looks a bit like "Schoppel Gradient": the fibers are not so much spun as slightly felted into a yarn, but it's so much softer and feels better against the skin. A good choice for warm hats, cozy shawls and cowls that will see you through winter. The color changes are a bit lighter and less obvious as in "Gradient", but – as always with Schoppel yarns – they are really beautiful. So it only makes sense that this yarn is certified organic: The wool comes from small farms in Argentina that comply with the strict rules of the “Global Organic Textile Standard” (GOTS), as does the spinning mill that processes the fiber, and even the offices and storage at BC Garn in northern Germany. “We are required to work in an energy-efficient way, recycle and offer fair working conditions to our employees”, says Britta Kremke, owner of BC Garn. The standards are obligatory for every step of the production – so the knitter can be sure that the yarn she holds in her hands is made in a animal-friendly and sustainable fashion.
