Product information "Halley"

Like a shower of comets and stars, criss-crossing through the sky – that’s what Alexandra of Zauberwiese thought of when she created this beautiful colorway for Strickmich! Club. So I picked up this theme for the design of a lacy shawl: The garter stitch gives way to an ever-growing assembly of geometric comet traces. The shawl is named “Halley” after Halley’s Comet, which is visible from Earth every 74 to 79 years, even without a telescope. The subtle color speckles on a stunning blue background make the shawl even more interesting to knit and wear – reminding you of the wonders of the universe while it warms your shoulders.

You can use a yarn with 400-500 m per 100 g for this, like e. g. Amano Ayni or Rosy Green Wool Heb & Manx Merino Fine.

The pattern "Halley" is part of Martina Behms book "The Hitchhiker Collection"

Amano Ayni
Color Amano: 5013 Jade
Ayni by Amano is made from 80% Baby Alpaca and 20% Silk, yardage is about 200 meters / 218 yards / 50 g, so it's perfect for light but warm shawls like Rockin' Rows or Snowflake Party. Extra warm, extra soft and extra good for our planet – that’s the way we love a beautiful yarn, and the amazing alpaca yarns by Amano are just that! The fiber comes from cooperatives in Peru which employ the latest methods to ensure an animal-friendly environment and minimal impact on the surroundings. The high plains of the Andes are home to three and a half million alpacas. They have been living in this area for more than 5000 years and learned to thrive despite the rough climate and scarce food supply, earning their wool a reputation to be the most sustainable animal fiber there is. Alpaca fiber is significantly warmer than wool from sheep, it is very soft and has an attractive lustre – a dream for any knitter. It is processed by a spinning mill in the south of Peru to become one of the luxurious knitting yarns by Amano: blended with silk, merino or cashmere or pure as Baby or Imperial Alpaca in gorgeous, vibrant colors inspired by the textile traditions of South America.

Jasminde

This pattern was part of Strickmich! Club 2014. If you are a beginning Lace knitter, this is for you!  When I first saw a skein of yarn in this beautiful berry-pinkish color, I immediately felt that it needed to be something very, very pretty. Definitely lace, but not too frilly. Geometric and delicate, but simple enough to make it an enjoyable knitting experience. So here is “Jasminde”, a triangular, asymmetric shawl that you will be able to wrap yourself into and instantly feel beautiful! With only 150 grams of “Rohrspatz & Wollmeise Pure“, you will knit a generously sized shawl that is 250 cm (100 inches) long and will not only be pretty to look at, but also keep you warm when autumn arrives. The pattern is flexible regarding the amount of yarn you have and the size you want your shawl to be: Just leave about 10% of your total amount of yarn for the edging, and you will be fine. The English version of the printed pattern does NOT contain a written-out version, CHARTS ONLY.The pattern "Jasminde" is part of Martina Behms book "The Hitchhiker Collection".

Green Light Shawl
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
Green and light – that means green lights for everyone who would like to endeavor their very first lace project! It starts with simple garter stitch on the bias, the lace border is knit on last. The result is a classically elegant crescent shaped symmetric shawl, light as a feather and warm and comfy at the same time, in a fascinating exotic yarn. The shape is achieved by stacking two simple geometric shapes onto one another, all in garter stitch to keep it simple. The attractive lace edging is attached perpendicularly as the final step. A nice project to start at home and take on vacation: Work on the mindless and relaxing garter stitch part while still at home and working, and save the slightly more complicated lace part for when you have arrived at your destination, are relaxed and have lots of time to knit the lace border in your deck chair. Less than one skein of an ultralight blend of yak and silk results in a shawl that will fit women of all sizes. If you would like to make it even bigger, go ahead and use up your entire skein. The pattern "Green Light Shawl" is part of Martina Behms book "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions".

Simple, elegant lace in a surprising, long, slightly asymmetrical triangular shape: That’s Naiada! Knit with a warm DK weight yarn in a beautiful color it will look great under your winter coat or wrapped around your shoulders for extra warmth over a shirt or sweater. Made of a bright blue you will be wearing your very private ocean!  You start at one corner of the triangle, adding wider and wider rows, thereby forming a long, slightly asymmetric triangle. The pattern will work at any gauge with any amount of yarn.  The lace pattern is very straightforward and easy to remember. You can work it using the (very simple) written instructions or the charts, whatever you prefer.  It’s really smooth sailing on the lace ocean which is also doable for beginning lace knitters. The beautiful yarn Amano Puna which I used for the sample is available in our shop. The pattern "Naiada" is part of Martina Behms book "The Hitchhiker Collection".
