Berry Skies

Product information "Berry Skies"

A cowl that looks like a scarf that looks like a shawl, is an easy-peasy knit and has an unusual construction, accentuated by stripes in my most beloved colors – that sounds like a new favorite project of mine, and that’s exactly what “Berry Skies” is! I have been playing around with different ways of making cowls, and this one struck me as particularly suited for a “Trio Aquarell” by Dibadu: Three colors with just enough contrast to emphasize the stripes and zig-zags that are in perfect harmony nevertheless – just like clouds in the sky over Damsdorf, my home, at sunset. The cowl is entirely knit back and forth in garter stitch with only a few purl stitches and minimal ends to weave in when you are done. Depending on which side you decide to wear up, the light or dark colors will show more. Choose your favorite way to wear it, and the geometric zig-zag elements will be more prominent or less, making it one of the most versatile knitted pieces of your wardrobe!

Strider

Take a deep breath, enjoy the view, walk a few miles in a bizarre landscape that was left behind by the gravel mines surrounding our village – that’s what I enjoy every day. “Strider” is a scarf that has proven immensely useful during my walks: In the middle, it is pointy as a shawl for extra warmth on the chest, but the ends are square. This fun geometric construction is accentuated by a pretty color-changing yarn. Entirely knit in garter stitch with super simple and short instructions, it is perfectly suited for a beginning knitter. Bonus: You can make this bigger by using more yarn – just knit until everything is used up.  The pattern "Strider" is part of Martina Behm´s book "Strickmich! Knitting Inventions".

Rose Candy
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
Rose Candy was the last pattern of Strickmich! Club 2015. Warm and fun – that’s what a knitting project for the cold season should be like to cheer us up during the dark days of winter. Make a cozy stripey cowl in garter stitch, just knitting back and forth and joining the parts modularly. No purling, no seaming, just pure fun with stripes! If you have twice the amount of yarn available, you can make your cowl longer so that it doubles as a very warm scarf – the sweet icing on the cake of our Strickmich! Club year 2015! The yarn is an animal-friendly supersoft merino in a very special, limited colorway that will make your cheeks glow with joy. Spiral Escape
Formate: PDF Download | Language: Deutsch
This is the third pattern of Strickmich! Club 2017. Dark alleys, intense colors, unforgettable melodies and a tragic love story – “West Side Story” is one of the biggest music movies of all time, and great to watch while knitting. Preferably something that goes well with the colors and theme of the film, like “Spiral Escape”: A cowl made from a gradient yarn whose colors resemble those of the backgrounds in the movie. The spiraled construction mirrors the iconic fire escape stairs that are a visual theme of the musical and New York City. And this cowl is really easy to knit! Start with a little square and go on in garter stitch, knitting back and forth while forming the spiraled shape on the go by simply knitting two stitches together. No seaming! The last finishing touches are done with a crochet hook. The result is a warm and beautiful cowl in fascinating dark and intense colors, perfect to wear during fall.
